Since 2005, I’ve been helping people address personal, work, relationship and family difficulties = to live. For several years, I worked at the Poradna pro rodinu Olomouckého kraje [Family Counselling Centre of the Olomouc Region] (in the legendary villa on “Žilinská”).
I help people with depression, relationship problems, personal changes, children’s behavioural issues, and university studies. Couple or family therapy is available with two experienced therapists (a woman and a man). You can come alone, as a couple, or with your entire family. I work with traditional and “non-traditional” families and approaches.
I perceive individuals from a bio-psycho-socio-spiritual perspective, taking into account the person’s own viewpoint. I use a holistic approach – primarily narrative (systemic) psychotherapy with inspiration from other approaches (e.g. Gestalt, Jungian psychotherapy, SFBT, somatic experiencing, psychoanalysis, video interaction training, biosynthesis, CBT, logotherapy, or parts work). The number of sessions is individualised, but I aim to keep them to a minimum. The goal is to support clients’ internal resources so that problems are resolved without requiring external help. This may sometimes take time, while in other cases just one session is sufficient.
I continuously educate myself in psychology, therapy and counselling through supervision and shorter or longer training programmes, residencies, or through my own psychotherapy under the guidance of experienced psychologists. For example:
– comprehensive psychotherapeutic training (Path of Systemic Therapies focusing on narrative psychotherapy, 5 years): Jan Hesoun, Markéta Závěrková, Petr Doležal, Anna Klimešová, Zdeněk Macek, Chana Rachel Frumin and others.
– narrative couple therapy (6 workshops): Chana Rachel Frumin (Israel);
– narrative work with suicidal and depressed individuals (6 online specialisation workshops): David Newman (Australia, The Dulwich Centre)
– Psychosomatická klinika [Psychosomatic Clinic] (6-week psychotherapeutic residency): Jaromír Kabát;
– self-development programme Centro Takiwasi – Tarapoto, Peru (4 weeks; ayahuasca; purga, etc): Jacques Mabit, Jaime Torres, Veronika Kavenská et al.;
– experiential residency, Putumayo, Colombia (4 weeks): Taita Jose Putumayo;
–researcher at Leibniz Institut für Sozialwissenschaften, Mannheim (4 months); researcher at University of Humanistic Studies, Utrecht (multiple extended stays);
– crisis intervention training (2 years): under the guidance of Bohumila Baštecká et al. regular supervision (collaboration previously or currently with e.g. Petr Doležal, Jan Hesoun, Lubomír Smékal, Bohumila Baštecká or Jan Poněšický);
– numerous shorter university residencies (e.g. Aston University, UK; University of Portsmouth, UK; FSEV UK, Slovakia; University of York, UK);
– many shorter training courses, workshops (e.g. biosynthesis, dance therapy, voice therapy, video interaction training, logotherapy, analytical therapy, individual therapy, art therapy, inner voices, dialogical acting, mindfulness, motivational interviewing).
Since 2013, I have been working in my private practice. I am a full member of the Association of Marriage and Family Counselors and the Czech-Moravian Psychological Society.
I provide counseling in Czech (Slovak) and English. My working hours are flexible, based on prior telephone or email arrangement.
All clients are treated anonymously, and no information is provided to third parties or organizations, except for legally mandated exceptions. For example, the obligation to prevent a serious crime supersedes therapist confidentiality. Specifically, this might involve ongoing child sexual abuse or plans to harm another person. The vast majority of crimes do not need to be reported. More information in paragraphs 167 and 168 of the Criminal Code at this link.
Current Price List, Cancellation Fees and Discounts
The session length is according to your preference and my availability on the given day and time. You can book a very short session (20 minutes), a standard session (45 minutes), or an extended session (70 minutes). This price list applies between 8:00 and 16:30 (therapy start time). For individual therapy, we can meet at the counselling office or go for a therapeutic walk (walk and talk therapy). Online therapy is slightly more expensive for two reasons: I want to be a bit cheaper for local clients, and although online therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy, I find it slightly more exhausting.
Individual therapy (one person present):
- 20 minutes = 600 Kč (650 Kč online)
- 45 minutes = 1200 Kč (1300 Kč online)
- 70 minutes = 1800 Kč (1850 Kč online)
Couple, team or family therapy (two or more people present):
- 20 minutes = 800 Kč (850 Kč online)
- 45 minutes = 1600 Kč (1700 Kč online)
- 70 minutes = 2400 Kč (2550 Kč online)
Session beginning before 8:00 or after 16:30 (+20%). Session on weekends and holidays (+50%). During these times, I primarily want to focus on myself or my family, but exceptionally, therapy can be arranged by mutual agreement during these times and days.
Cancellation policy: When we schedule a session, please familiarise yourself with the entry condition regarding cancellation fees for cancelling or missing meetings for any reason (including illness). If you cancel a session less than 24 hours before the scheduled time, or if you do not show up for the session, I will ask you to pay 100% of the amount of the agreed consultation fee. This means that if your session is scheduled to start at 14:00, for example, you can cancel this session free of charge until 13:59 the previous day. So if I receive an SMS message or WhatsApp message by 13:59 (please do not use email to cancel sessions), the cancellation is free of charge. The decisive factor is the time when this message reaches me – not when it was sent (therefore a traditional SMS is better, as I may be offline for a while). Therefore, please check that the message has indeed been sent and also received. Thank you. Outside of these critical 24 hours before the session, you can cancel or reschedule a session at any time. The cancellation fee is required because your appointment (time and space reserved for you) cannot be filled so quickly with other clients.
Discounts: In case of financial hardship, I provide discounts in rare cases by agreement.

Recommendations
When I talk to Ales, I feel like I am talking to a real person who really cares, and who is at the same time a highly-experienced professional. I can warmly recommend him to anyone seeking support and guidance in difficult times. Note: Ales, thank you so much, our sessions have been absolutely vital in keeping my head on my shoulders in some dark and crazy times, and your words really helped me navigate through stormy weather. I don’t think I’d be where I am now without your help. (Mark, 38, 2 chidren)
I found Aleš Neusar through a colleague’s recommendation in the industry. I felt the need to discuss the challenges of being a company executive and business consultant with a professional listener. Aleš is a perceptive, likeable, and attentive gentleman who, with his subtle smile and quiet voice, directly encourages discussion of any topic. We have met several times, and each time he has inspired me to address a set of themes that have emerged in my work and life. And it’s not just about solving issues ‘here and now,’ but rather finding systemic solutions so that I can cope with situations in the long term. Long-term and with overlap – whether the topic is professional or personal. And when I don’t like his first advice for whatever reason, he searches his memory and pulls out a set of other possibilities, different perspectives, and finds an approach that suits me. Aleš – thank you.
